IULM University of Milan (Dipartimento di Studi umanistici) and Sapienza University of Rome (Dipartimento di Studi Greco-Latini, Italiani, Scenico-Musicali) announce the International Conference "Exchange between the Cultures of the East, Egypt and the Mediterranean in the Bronze Age", which will take place in Milan, on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th May 2017.
Trade was central to relations among the various cultures which developed in the Middle and Near East, Egypt and the Mediterranean during the Bronze Age. Recent discoveries allow us to update the map of the economic and political contacts between Mesopotamia, Syria, the Palestinian coast and the Mediterranean. Each within their own sphere of competence, the speakers who have accepted to participate in the International Conference "Exchange between the Cultures of the Ancient East, Egypt and the Mediterranean in the Bronze Age" will cover the history of the establishment and the development of contact between the East, Egypt and the Mediterranean, from the third millennium to the end of the second millennium BC.
The Acts of the International Conference will be published in the scientific journal "Pasiphae".
